"I'm sure there was nothing that either of us could do about it, so let's not waste words on it, I'm merely happy that no one was hurt and that you made it back to your ship in time to escape."

"I thank you for your concern for me, we are delighted to find out you were not harmed by the vile actors of violence in our galaxy. The stars can be a dangerous place and one must move carefully."

[The Clans]

"Aside from some space amoeba, we have found the galaxy to be unusually pleasant so far, which conflicts with our knowledge of rogue black holes, sudden gamma ray bursts, and all manner of freak occurrences. You've been out here longer ghan we have, what else is oht here?"

[Mthis]

"There was recently a conflict where the so called Ka-vidar attacked a religious people, the horrors of war was clear in their doing. Doing acts which cannot ever be understood or related to, they broadcast terror feeds of their leaders, devouring, eating. The locals. It was truly horrible."

[The Clans]

Kyu'ell looks at the camera with a vague sense of fascination while another of the captains begins to speak rather calmly for giving such a grim assessment. "It sounds like they're cowing the populace with terror to break them and keep them from rising up while posturing to the rest of the galaxy. Before unification neighboring breakaway clans would resort to cannibalism if raids were insufficient. It was typically done to intimidate neighbors into giving food as tribute to stave off further raids, and if that didn't work, well, no one likes having to smell the piled partially eaten corpses of their clan kindred."

[Mthis]

"It is a practise we cannot it shows the worst and most primal form an intelligent lifeform can go, a lack of respect for what is Sentient at an equal level of oneself. It is a shame some peoples of the Galaxy do not see things in such a way."

[The Clans]

They all go silent as they look at each other and seemingly communicate with subtle facial expressions before one of them speaks "Your world must be quite peaceful."

[Mthis]

"You would assume right, weve had almost two generations of complete peace. After the discovery of thermal energy our society and technology advanced rapidly, it is hard to believe even for us that a mere 300 years ago we were only using simple cold-forged blades and had no machinery. But not every world and its peoples are the same"

[The Clans]

"For the entire extent of our recorded history we've had access to ballistic weaponry and machinery-"

"Our concrete recorded history," interrupts a female captain.

"Yes, our own dated history. We have very few records of what our civilization, what our planet was like before it was consumed by atomics in the wake of an environmental collapse. It's the prevailing theory, but very few written records survive from that time and electronic records are nonexistent. We've only recently put an end to four centuries of fighting over spare parts, food, people, and for pure prestige. The last holdout clans were incorporated a few years ago."

[Mthis]

"Very fascinating, a very harsh world it would seem. We hope you will in time recover more of your past, knowing ones history helps one find ways for its worst parts to not repeat itself. Our own records strech way back t othe birth of our written language, but such things are more under archeology"

[The Clans]

Kyu'el once again speaks "The only parts of our past that society as a whole cares about is what is useful, and all of those structures and technologies have already been exploited, stripped, and improved upon. We're setting on the pinnacle of our technological output. Anything else, well, it has to be discovered by archaeologists and the story told by an inkback, or some other performer. The fact that the past is lost does not trouble us, it is just as insignificant as any novel."

[Mthis]

"A fascinating view on things, the galaxy is truly diverse in many things, as one should expect from such mathematical properties, there will be an endless variation"

[The Clans]

"Endless variation and possibilities impossible to fully catalog, each infinitely unique and infinitely pointless as individual grains of sand. However, much like grains of sand, each is food for contemplation and study before the eyes of the right individual. That is why our science fleets consist of five head researchers from different fields. We each have our own passions and disinterests, when we all work in concert we maximize the knowledge gain for our clan.. I mean our people."

[Mthis]

"Fascinating indeed, i do hope youl find a rightful spot amongst the galactic community freinds. However most species in our stellar clsuter appear more inclined towards religious dominance, not somthing my kin is used to, and try to avoid dabbling into."

[The Clans]

"I don't understand... Relijuice. Is it some form of resource war?"

[Mthis]

"It is a war of belief, they fight for somthing they believe exsist beyond our lives as i have gathered it. Faith. They are not fightign for anything they will ever be able to touch or see for real i am sure"

[The Clans]

"Ah, so it is a war for prestige then.. knowing that they are 'the best' and desire to prove it?"

[Mthis]

"So it would seem, us Kaheshi have long outgrown the need for such. Peaceful coexsistance is the best possible outcome for all of us if we are to survive in a hostile galaxy."

[The Clans]

"It can be said that our species' unification is the product of a war for prestige so that our leader could be remembered forever as the one who united the Clans and kept them together. There are rumors among the Dreamer community that the reason we're even in space is to mine raw ore to build her own mausoleum. Whatever the circumstances, it is a beautiful building, and these are beautiful machines that we fly in. If prestige does not motivate you and drive you onward...What does?"

Another captain chimes in "The military ship that hailed us on our arrival was very unenthusiastic for having the chance to be one of the few to speak to a new race, very unenthusiastic for a military man in general. Unenthusiastic for a leader."

[Mthis]

"It is how the Galaxy has shaped many species. A shame indeed. It is however good to see more species are open to diplomatic talks"

[The Clans]

"I believe there is a lot we can learn from each other. How about we swap star charts? Setting up living space for an embassy is going to be an interesting logistical problem."
